Initially, it had wooden benches in front, an adequate auditorium with 903 seats, restaurant, public baths, and a hairdressing salon on upper floors. Chequers Cinema was opened on Saturday, January 20<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 1912, it was amongst the affordable and average-looking cinema with brick walls, paper carpets, and a single floor with one hall. However, it could accommodate 1,000 viewers with one screen. At first, it was known as \u2018The Grand Cinema Palace\u2019 that could provide seating for 1,100 in the hall and 308 in the balcony. Unlike another closing history, Gaumont Cinema was very famous and commended by other Cinema chains like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.odeon.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">ODEON<\/a>, but it was closed when other cinemas gained more population which resulted in a loss.
