The first ever beer festival in Britain was held in 1974 when the English and Irish locals gathered to celebrate and introduce drinking festive for the beer lovers. Since then, Beer Festival is held every year, and it is renowned by the name <\/span>St Alban Beer & Cider Festival<\/a>. <\/b>Thousands of locals from around the UK attend this festival to experience the finest and excellent beer that one would find in the whole world. St Albans is also the headquarters of <\/span>CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale)<\/a> <\/b>that is responsible for supervising such events. This four-day event is the best opportunity for all those who love to drink beer of various kind by blending in with St Alban\u2019s locals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Established in 1971, CAMRA is one of the only independent consumer organisation that voluntarily hosts drinking events by promoting <\/span>real cider, real ale <\/b>and the traditional British Inns. Presently, CAMRA is joined by more than 185,000 members from across the Britain, and it has become the largest single-issue consumer organisation in the UK.<\/span><\/p>\n

CAMRA was instituted in a Scottish pub by the name <\/span>Kruger\u2019s Bar<\/a> <\/b>situated in <\/span>Dunquin, Kerry, Ireland. <\/b>Its founding members are Graham Lee, Bill Mellor, Michael Hardman, and Jim Makin. CAMRA came into being as an opposition to homogenisation of British brewery industry and mass production of beer. The primary name for this beer revolt was <\/span>Campaign for Revitalisation of Ale, <\/b>but later it was changed in 1972 to Campaign for Real Ale. Today, CAMRA stands with aims to protect and improve all the consumer rights, promotion of value for money, quality and choice of economic decision, supporting community life in public houses, campaigns for beer appreciation to prevent national culture and heritage of the Britain from being destroyed.<\/span><\/p>\n

St Albans Beer & Cider Festival 2017:<\/b><\/p>\n

St Albans is hosting its one of the biggest beer festival of the year that will last for four consecutive days (27<\/span>th<\/span> \u2013 30<\/span>th<\/span> September 2017). The Alban arena will be opened for the festival on Wednesday & Thursday from 11 am to 11 pm, Friday & Saturday from 11 am to 11 pm. Interested people can buy tickets for \u00a33.00 and \u00a33.00 on particular days. <\/span>CAMRA members can attend this event free of cost.<\/b><\/p>\n
